The Kount in Chester
It is amazing how much of the Roman Invasion still exists in
England. A good example is the Chester walls. Although the Romans
did not build the existing walls, they are in the same location
as the originals and are at least 500 years old. The walls are
not as aesthetically medieval as York's walls but they are more
complete and feel more antique. The picture I sent is of the King
Charles tower. The tower is located on the wall at the Northeast
corner. On top the tower, King Charles I watched Oliver Cromwell's
Parliamentarians defeat his army in 1645 at the Battle of Rowton
Moors.
Cheers,
